It is a structure that allows life to endure and change.
SOLLAB seeks to organize life and place through a coherent relationship
between structure, space, material and environment.
We pursue architecture in which the logic of the parts extends to the whole
and remains open to change over time.

구조·외피·재료·공간이 하나의 질서를 이루는
구축적 사고의 출발점으로 바라본다.

For SOLLAB, this is not a historical style but
a tectonic way of understanding how structure, enclosure, material and space form one architectural order.

임기웅의 건축은 장소와 삶의 조건을 읽는 것에서 시작한다.
장소와 삶의 조건을 통해 구조와 모듈을 정하고, 그 질서를 평면과 단면, 재료와 외피, 외부공간과 디테일까지 확장한다.
부분과 전체를 반복해서 오가며 서로 다른 요소들이 하나의 건축적 언어를 이루도록 하는 것이 그의 설계방식이다.
건축의 가치는 완성된 이미지보다 실제로 지어졌을 때 공간·구조·재료·기후와 사람의 삶이 어떻게 작동하는가에 있다고 본다.
새로운 형식을 위한 새로움보다, 장소와 시간을 견디는 질서와 변화하는 삶을 받아들일 수 있는 건축을 지향한다.
Kiung Lim’s architecture begins by reading the conditions of life and place.
He establishes structure and module, extending that order through plan, section, material, envelope, landscape and detail.
Moving continuously between part and whole, he seeks a coherent architectural language across different scales.
He believes the value of architecture lies not primarily in its image,
but in how space, structure, material, climate and everyday life work together once a building is built.
Rather than pursuing novelty for its own sake, his work seeks enduring order rooted in place and frameworks capable of accommodating change over time.
